How to Use:

In the Microwave: An energy-saving method, as the microwave radiation heats the ceramic, allowing both radiant heat and water vapour to act on the food.

In the Oven: Add a small amount of water beforehand and cook on a convection setting. This creates hot steam under the lid while the ceramic stores the heat and releases it to the vegetables as radiant heat. The minimal amount of water means far less energy is used than when cooking in a pot.

Plus: After a relatively short period of energy input, the vegetables continue to cook under the closed lid. For example, broccoli or cauliflower only need 5 minutes of direct energy input before continuing to cook for another 5 minutes with the lid closed.
